Who We Are

About Us

Our Mission

Honoring Military Families Through the Gift of Rest and Reconnection

Camp Gratitude is a FREE week-long camping experience for military and veteran families to relax and have fun while building strength and cohesiveness. We do this to honor and thank these families for their service to our country. The camp is for any military or veteran family that has experienced deployment.

Just because veterans have returned home from their deployment does not mean they are home safe. Veterans suffer disproportionately high rates of unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and drug abuse, divorce and suicide. Veteran families need help coping with these issues and adjusting to life following return from deployment. Recognizing this need, Camp Gratitude provides camp participants access to professional resources to give them a way to ease back into every day family life following deployment.

What Drives Us

Our Core Values

Gratitude

We exist to say thank you — to honor the sacrifice of military families with a tangible, meaningful gift of rest and joy.

Family

Camp Gratitude is designed for the whole family. Spouses, children, and veterans all benefit from a week of togetherness and healing.

Service

We serve those who served. Every aspect of camp — from the cabins to the professional resources — is provided completely free of charge.

Community

Veteran families connect with one another, building bonds and a support network that lasts long after camp ends.

Why It Matters

The Challenge Facing Veteran Families

  • Veterans experience unemployment at rates far above the national average.

  • Veteran homelessness remains a persistent and serious national crisis.

  • Rates of alcohol and drug abuse are significantly higher among veterans.

  • Divorce and family separation are common consequences of deployment.

  • Suicide rates among veterans are alarmingly elevated compared to civilians.

Camp Gratitude's Response

We provide a structured, supportive environment where veteran families can step away from the pressures of daily life, access professional counseling resources, and reconnect as a family unit — all at absolutely no cost to them.

Our 2027 event at Big Marine Lake in Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota offers air-conditioned, fully furnished cabins and a week filled with activities, rest, and community — limited to 12 families to ensure a personal, meaningful experience.
